Typography Ideas

The typography is placed in the center of the bottom of the poster in large yellow writing. The colour of the typography stands out against the dark background behind it. This makes it the focus of the poster due to the contrast of its colour. The size of the typography also makes it a focus because it is a lot bigger than anything else that is written on the poster making it stand out more. The typography looks almost like the yellow lines you see painted on the road that are slightly worn out. The lines are linked to the law showing the audience that the film will in some way involve the law as well.
This typography is placed at the top of the poster to allow room for the picture to be seen. This shows that in this poster the picture is actually the focus. Although the picture is the focus it is still the title of the film that you see first. This is due to it being the only thing in a bright colour on the poster. The red of the title symbolizes blood and shows the audience that there may be violence involved in this film. By having a body shape cut out of the 'A' it tells the audience that not only is it a character orientated film but the 'blood' from the red may be to do with the protagonist.

This is my favourite typography of the three I have deconstructed. I like it due to the fact that it links in with the picture and is not separated. By writing the title of the film on the protagonists knuckles it means that as you read the title of the film (which is the focus of the poster) you are then forced to look at the picture too. I think this is a clever way of intriguing an audience to look at your poster and become interested in the film. I also think that making the typography look like a tattoo is a good idea because tattoos are stereotypically linked with thugs and 'bad' people and so it hints that this is what the film will be centered around.
