Black Skinhead Music Video Deconstruction

Black Skinhead:

- Throughout the whole video, only the themes of black and white are used which can be used to convey many meanings. Common interpretations of this colour coordination could be that it is used to highlight simply good vs. evil, where good is represented by white and evil is represented by black. In other interpretations, black and white could be used to symbolise a struggle of some sort. For example, in Sin City the theme of black and white is used (justice vs. sin) to symbolise this and this is also an example of how a whole film could be made in black and white and still have effect. From this, I feel that we could certainly shoot a few of our shots in black and white whilst maintaining the overall effect and professional look of our trailer.

- There is definitely supernatural elements to the music video. The effect of distorted shots of dogs and the caricature edit of Kanye himself, helps to demonstrate this unnatural theme. Despite it's effect, this would be challenging to apply to our teaser trailer however, we may wish to consider this should we be ahead of task and find ourselves wondering for layers to add to our trailer. Also, we may wish to take aspects of this trailer in order to connote supernatural themes because this is clearly the preferred reading of this video and has been created successfully.
