Photoshoot for Poster

Over the weekend Armani, took part in a photoshoot for our promotional poster - the idea behind the poster was to show a mysterious side of our protagonist as if she is hiding something. Firstly we wanted to use a white background because it is very easy to edit out on photoshop but also because we want our promotional poster to be primarily white. White evokes the idea of purity and innocence which is contrasting to the presentation of our protagonist as we want to present her to be involved in crime. However it does relate to our character as really and truly she is only a product of her environment and only wants to escape and be a good person.

Moving on, we wanted Armani to wear a Adidas tracksuit - something that she doesn't wear in the trailer. This is to give the idea that she is a real person and not just a character that wears the same clothing. We also wanted the tracksuit to be black to contrast the colour white. A block colour black is also very easy to edit out on photoshop.

Her hair, we wanted it to look not to styled, to give it that rough effect. So we decided to have her simply tied up, not jelled. This hairstyle also conforms to the street style, urban and easy going. It also relates to the idea of her not being to feminine - as she doesn't have a emphasis on her appearance.

We also wanted to have her piercing on show as this relates to the image of her being a rebel, bad - multiple ear piercings and a nose piercings.

Finally, the lighting on set. We wanted the lighting to be low key to portray again the idea of her hiding something. Low key lighting also conveys ideas about her character being quite dark relating more to her vampire side.
