Website Deconstruction of 1Day
The 1 day website uses a mixture of the main characters as the background picture, this is extremely effective as it allows you to see every character with an impact within this film. It is also effective as it starts to give you an insight into how you would expect every character to be based on the mise-en-scene e.g. the clothing used in each picture. It starts with the character on the far left with a bandana around his neck, wearing a baseball cap and a shiny watch, as well as the other male in the series of images wearing a black jumper and holding a sub-machine gun in his hand. This begins to conform to the stereotypical images we see of gang members and people involved in criminal activity, which means that the viewers can see the direction this film will go, whether it will conform or even exaggerate the stereotypes of life within an urban society.
The links are displayed over the top of the page, the website gives a variety of links from the cast and crew, to a gallery of images that were captured during the making of the film, the positioning of the links are also rather good as they are clearly displayed for the viewers to see it, the links which are accessible also allow any possible viewers of the film to view possible features that it has.
The way that this website plays soundtracks from the film is very clever, as it uses a iPod as the music player. Also, with the option to mute, change and pause the songs of your choice.
The reviews from people such as Mobo in the example above, scroll across the bottom to allow space on the website. By scrolling across you save space on the actual website as you don't actually need to post these reviews on the face of the website.
The tagline wasn't subtle in the 1 day website like how it is in other websites, when the tagline is a small font somewhere on the website, in 1 day the tagline has more of an impact on the website, as it simmers into the title due to the fact that the title is a part of the website.
